Translation of Hadith 90-94 From the Book "Al-lu'lu' Wal-Marjaan".

* Permission of secrecy for the person in fear *

Hadith: 90

It is narrated by Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him)  that: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said (to us): [Write for me the names of those people who have announced that they are Muslims. So, we wrote down for him one thousand five hundred men. Then we said: Should we be afraid (of infidels) although we are one thousand and five hundred in number?" Indeed, I have seen us being afflicted (with such bad trials) that one would have to offer the prayer alone in fear]. (Recorded by Al-Bukhaari, 4/72).

* Being supportive to one who fear for his faith due it weakness, and the prohibition of attributing Faith to someone without an authentic proof *

Hadith: 91

It is narrated by Sa`d (may Allah be pleased with him) that: [Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) gave a group of people (something) while Sa'd was sitting amongst them, but he left a man whom I considered the best of them to me. So, I said to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him): O messenger of Allah! Why have you left so and so person? By Allah! I consider him a believer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Or merely a Muslim”. I remained quiet for a while, but what I knew of him again urged me and I repeated my statement, I said: O Allah's Apostle! Why have you left so and so person? By Allah! I consider him a believer.  The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Or merely a Muslim”. I remained quiet for a while, but what I knew of him again urged me and I repeated my statement, I said: O Allah's Messenger(peace be upon him)! Why have you left so and so person? By Allah! I consider him a believer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) repeated his saying. Then he (peace be upon him) said: “O sa'd! I give to a person while the other is dearer to me, for fear that Allah may throw him to Hell-fire by his face]. (Recorded by Al-Bukhaari, 1/14).

* Increment of tranquility by the showing up evidences *

Hadith: 92

It is narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him)  said: [We are more vulnerable to doubt that Ibrahim when he said: {“My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” [Allah] said: "Have you not believed?” He said, "I have believed, but (I ask) only that my heart may be satisfied}. May Allah have mercy on Lot that he was relying on a strong pillar and had I stayed in the prison as long as Yusuf stayed I would have responded to the messenger]. (Recorded by Al-Bukhaari, 4/147, and Muslim, 4/1839).

* Obligation of believing that the message of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is for all people, and the replacement of all other religions *

Hadith: 93

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah(peace be upon him) said: [There has never been a Prophet amongst the prophets who was not bestowed with a sign amongst the signs which Human beings believed in, and verily I have been conferred upon revelation (the Holy Qur'an) which Allah revealed to me. I hope that I will have the greatest followers on the Day of Resurrection]. (Recorded by Al-Bukhaari, 6/182).

Hadith: 94

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) that: The Messenger of Allah(peace be upon him) said: [Three kinds of people will have a double reward: A man from the People of the Book who believes in his Prophet and (also) believes in Muhammad; a slave who discharge properly the duties towards Allah and towards his master; and a man who possesses a slave-girl and teaches her manners, educates her well, and frees her and then marries her. He has two rewards]. (Recorded by Al-Bukhaari, 1/31).

To sum up, the following benefits can be extracted from the above Ahadith:

1 - Patience at the time of calamity.

2 – The importance of being supportive to one who fear for his faith due it weakness, and the prohibition of attributing Faith to someone without definitive evidence.

3 - The excellent qualities of the prophets(peace be upon them all).

4 - Islam is a religion brought to all people, and that the Shari’ah of our noble prophet Muhammad has replaced all the messages of the prophets before him.

5 - The reward of teaching (religion to) one's female-slave and his family.

To be continued, insha Allah…
