All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) , is His Slave and Messenger.

Hajj is one of the great pillars of Islam. Allah Almighty has made it obligatory on the Muslims who are able to find a way to do it, saying:

" وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِين"

{And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House—for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves—then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.} [Quran 3: 97]

People have continued to perform the Hajj since Ibrahim (Abraham), may Allah exalt his mention, raised the foundations of the House and called on people to come to it, as Allah ordered him until our present time, and it will not stop as long as there are believers on earth.

Hajj is a kind of worship which combines both physical and financial expenditure. Because it involves travel and more effort than other kinds of worship, Allah has only enjoined it once in a lifetime, and has stipulated that one must be able to do it. Being able to do it is a condition of an action being obligatory in this case and in others, but this condition of being able to do it is emphasized more in the case of Hajj more than in other cases. Hajj has great political and social benefits, including the following:

1 . The Muslims demonstrate unity in time, place, actions and appearance. All of them stand in the different locations of Hajj at the same time, doing the same actions, wearing the same clothes (the izaar and rida’), with humbleness before Allah, may He be glorified and exalted.

2 . During Hajj, Muslims from all parts of the world come together and show their love for one another and get to know one another. That is also accompanied by exhortations, guiding towards truth and encouraging people to adhere to it.

3 .  The season of Hajj brings a great deal of good in both spiritual and worldly terms, as the Muslims may benefit by coming together, learning from one another and doing business. They consult each other concerning their life and religion. They exchange experiences, opinions, and good habits. They become acquainted with each other's problems. They learn of each other's viewpoints. This interchanging of ideas increases their awareness, knowledge grows, and the impetus to reform is invigorated. As a result, plans are proposed, projects designed, educational, political, social and economic centers are established. Hence Allah, may He be exalted, said:

لِّيَشْهَدُوا مَنَافِعَ لَهُمْ"

“That they may witness things that are of benefit to them” [al-Hajj 22:28]. This includes both spiritual and worldly benefits.

4 . Hajj strengthens the feelings of universal brotherhood and manifests that Islam is the religion of unity and solidarity: Hajj removes all kinds of differences and provides the unity of Muslims. Two million people from hundreds of different countries and different nations, different colors and different cultures gather at the same place for the same purpose; they wear the same dress and turn to the same Qibla. They share the same feelings and same actions. They call the same unique Lord and follow the steps of same Prophet (pbuh). No matter they are rich or poor they are equal in duties and rights. These entire make Muslims realize that they are actually nothing but brothers to each other in the name of Islam. So, Hajj establishes a sincere brotherhood among the Muslims and obviously manifests that Islam is a religion of unity and solidarity.

The political and social benefits and hidden wisdoms of Hajj are many.
