The Description of Hajj and Umrah 3.

Then, he should go to Safa (a small hill near the Ka'bah) and read the following verse:

{إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ} (البقرة: 158).

{Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.} (Al-Baqarah: 158).

Then he should climb on Safa until he can see the Ka'bah, turn to the Qiblah, raise his hands and say the following supplication:

[الله أكبر].

[ALLAHU AKBARR] (3 times).

Which means: [Allah is the greatest].

[لا إله إلا الله وحده, أنجز وعده, ونصر عبده, وهزم الأحزاب وحده].

[LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH WAHDAH, ANJAZA WA'DAH, WA NASARA A'BDAH, WA HAZAMA AL-AHZABA WAHDAH].

Which means: [There is no God worthy of worship except Allah alone, he fulfilled his promise, helped his slave and defeated the companies of disbelievers alone].

He should repeat this 3 times and supplicate after the first and second lengthily.

Then, he should walk down to Marwah and jug between the two green signs. This jugging is for the men only and not for the women. Then he should continue walking until he climbs on Marwah and do the same as he did at Safa. This is considered as one round, and from Marwah to Safa is another round and so on until he complete walking seven rounds. This is the Sa'yu of Hajj for the Ifrad and Qiran Hajj but they do not make Tahallul after that, instead they will remain in their Ihram. And this Sa'yu is the Sa'yu of Umrah for the Tamttu'u Hajj.

The Mutamatti' makes Tahallul from his Umrah by shaving his hair and then put on his normal dress other than the Ihram.

On the day of Tarwiyah – which is the 8th day of Dhul Hijjah – The Mutamatti' put on the Ihram with the intention of Hajj from where he is, as well as those staying in Makkah and it surroundings. It is desired for him to do as he did at the Miqaat such as washing, using perfume and cleaning.

All the Pilgrims move towards Mina saying the Talbiyah on their way, while they are in Mina, they will pray Zuhr, A'sr, Maghrib, E'sha and Fajr prayers by reducing the four raka'h prayers to two but without praying them together.

Then, on the morning of the 9th day the Pilgrims should go to A'rafah. If it is possible for him to go to the mosque called Namirah and stay their till noon that will be better. When it is noon the Imam or his representative will deliver a short sermon, they will perform Zuhr and A'sr prayers together at the time of Zuhr prayer reducing each of them to two raka'ts, after he should enter into A'rafah. The Pilgrim must make sure that he is within the borders of A'rafah, and then he should turn to the Qiblah raising his hands in supplication and saying the Talbiyah, giving thanks to Allah, applying more effort in submission to Allah and making dhikr(remembrance of Allah) and making supplications on that great day.

The best supplication to be said on that day is:

[لا إله إلا الله, وحده لا شريك له, له الملك وله الحمد, وهو على كل شيء قدير].

[LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH, WAHDAHU LA SHARIKA LAHU, LAHUL MULKU WA LAHUL HAMDU, WAHUWA A'LA KULLI SHAY IN QADIR]

Which means that: [There is no God worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone and He has no partner, to Him belong all kingship and all gratitude, and He is capable of doing anything].

The Pilgrim most not keep fast on that; because not fasting will strengthen him for the worship, and he should continue standing in supplication with humility and total submission to Allah until the sun sets.
