Saudi Arabia Intercepts Houthi Missile

The Arab Coalition spokesman said on Monday that Saudi air defenses have intercepted and shut down a missile fired by Yemen’s Houthi insurgents.
The Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said the missile was fired from Yemen's territories in Saada province towards the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.
In a statement on the official Saudi Press Agency, Maliki said the attack "deliberately targeted densely populated civilian areas."
He said the new hostile act by the Iran-backed Houthis confirms Tehran’s continued support to the armed insurgents "in clear and explicit violation" of UN Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231 for the purpose of threatening the security of Saudi Arabia and the region.
Launching missiles on populated areas is contrary to international humanitarian laws, he added.
Maliki renewed his call on the international community to take more “serious and effective” steps in ending the Iranian violations, and the transfer of ballistic missiles and arms to terrorist groups.
